BIOFIX BIC receives recognition for Sustainable Development Good Practices awarded by Pacto Global
At the 13th Pacto Global – Red Colombia Congress in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, BIOFIX BIC received the award for Sustainable Development Good Practices through the development of the YAAWI IIPANA REDD+ Project. The project was recognized as an innovative and exemplary practice in line with the principles of the Pacto Global, as it not only promotes environmental protection, but also encourages the participation of local communities in decision-making in the development of REDD+ projects.
In the application for this recognition, BIOFIX BIC, (social developer of these communities), highlighted that the project addresses goal 13 of the Climate Action objective of the SDGs, as it aims to increase and conserve carbon sinks so that they can prevent CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
This recognition shines a spotlight on the work of the different actors who contribute to Climate Action. It motivates us as a company and encourages the communities that are proponents of the REDD+ Project to continue working with passion and commitment to conservation and to initiatives that improve their living conditions.
