NAYA REDD+
In the immediate vicinity of the Department of Cauca and the Valley is located in the hydrographic basin of the River Naya that ranges from the mountainous region of the Western Mountain range to the Pacific Ocean, in this is located settled, the Community Council, who leads the project of conservation NAYA REDD+.
With the activities of this project are protected 163.683 hectares of tropical moist forest, and is intended to benefit nearly 18,000 people inhabiting the territory.
With this project, the Community Council of the River Basin Naya has implemented processes of oversight and monitoring of forests, reforestation of degraded areas, strengthening of food security crops pancoger such as banana, bananillo, chinese potato, plantain, among others. In addition, he has carried out the development of production processes of agricultural with chontaduro and other smaller species.
