Why attend the Climate Summit Latin america and the Caribbean?
This is a event is organized by the Colombian Association of actors of the Carbon market – ASOCARBONO and the International Emission Trading Association – IETA, with the support of the united States Agency for International Development – USAID, and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia and will be held on 6, 7 and 8 October at the Centro de Convenciones Cartagena de Indias.
There are several countries who will come together to talk about the carbon markets, among them are: Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Panama, Chile, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, WAACMCF (alliance, which brings together 16 countries of West Africa), South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada and the united States.
The Climate Summit Latin america and the Caribbean seeks to conduct a discussion on the most relevant topics concerning the evolution of carbon markets in Latin america and the Caribbean, carbon taxes, quotas and tradable emissions, the bilateral mechanisms of the market and expectations regarding its development.
In addition, in this event we will evaluate the impact of the Contributions Determined at the National Level (NDC for its acronym in English), which are the core of the Paris Agreement, and the nature-based solutions, so that focus visions regional assertive with a view to the development of the negotiations to develop in the COP 26 in Glasgow, which will be held in November.
It is important to highlight that in The Climate Summit 2021 will be counted with all biosecurity measures, in the same way, those who attend will have to present and carry your vaccination certificate with the complete scheme of COVID19.
