Palameku Kuwei REDD+ is highlighted at the Green Carpet of the Ministry of Environment as an environmental conservation initiative.
In the first version of Green Carpet, an event organized by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, and the National School of Environmental Training SAP, the project Palameku Kuwei REDD+ was known for being an initiative that promotes environmental conservation and looks for the sustainable development of the 6 guards indigenous peoples Sikuani and Piapoco that make it up.
This project, located in Cumaribo, Vichada, seeks to protect more than 32 thousand hectares of forest and the benefit of over 4 billion people 6 indigenous reserves. Thanks to the social investment that has run the community, this project is featured in Colombia as a promoter of environmental education, and indigenous leadership in the protection of the forest.
