Biofix reaffirms its commitment to the carbon market at Climate Week NYC 2025

Climate Week NYC 2025 (September 21-28) was a crucial meeting point for global climate action. Under the theme "Let's Power On and Carry the Momentum Forward," discussions focused on accelerating the energy transition, climate finance, and environmental justice.

CEO Ana Milena Plata Fajardo and CLO Marco Andrés González Carantón represented Biofix, participating in events that promote real-impact initiatives. The agenda highlighted the importance of clean energy, green jobs, and technology.

From this high-level platform, Biofix announced a key step in its strategy: the preparation of a MOU with The Future Co. to generate carbon credits from an ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation) type project in Mozambique, Africa. This collaboration, as noted by the CLO, reinforces the company's commitment to addressing climate change through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) while combating poverty and generating opportunities for vulnerable communities.

At the end of the week, Ana Plata emphasized that “the carbon market remains the most efficient way to democratize access to environmental financing. We continue to advance REDD+, ARR, blue carbon, and biochar projects.” Marco González emphasized that “at Biofix, we have a clear conviction: both removals and reductions are equally crucial. We are not only restoring forests, we are also creating opportunities, resilience, and a more sustainable future.”
