BIOFIX BIC is recognized for its contribution to sustainable development at the Global Compact Congress

BIOFIX Consultoría S.A.S BIC was awarded for its outstanding contribution to sustainable development during the 13th Global Compact Congress – Colombia Network, held in alliance with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. The recognition was granted in the business category for the implementation of the YAAWI IIPANA REDD+ Grouped Project, an exemplary practice that responds to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action.

The award highlights not only the positive environmental impact of the project but also its participatory model, which actively involves local communities in decision-making for forest conservation and CO₂ emissions reduction. This collaborative methodology strengthens the social fabric and promotes climate solutions from a territorial and inclusive perspective.

Upon receiving the distinction, the BIOFIX BIC team emphasized the importance of carbon sinks as a key tool to mitigate climate change, and how their preservation can prevent millions of tons of carbon dioxide from reaching the atmosphere.

This recognition not only makes visible the company’s commitment to sustainability, but also motivates the proposing communities of the project to continue working with determination on environmental conservation and the improvement of their quality of life.

The YAAWI IIPANA REDD+ project is consolidated as one of the most representative practices in the country in terms of climate sustainability, aligned with the principles of the Global Compact and the United Nations SDGs.
