Ethnically diverse communities, working alongside BIOFIX BIC, have made a positive impact on the environmental and social well-being of the planet through the development of 13 REDD+ conservation projects in Colombia and Brazil.

Bogotá, February 5, 2024. Over the past years, thanks to the implementation of 13 REDD+ conservation projects, a total of 27,156,874 tons of CO₂e have been certified as reduced, with an annual average reduction of 3,964,409 tons of CO₂ equivalent.

These achievements demonstrate the effective implementation of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to global climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability.

The projects, developed in close collaboration with Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities, have played a crucial role in fighting climate change. These local actors have been key to the successful implementation of REDD+ initiatives, promoting ecosystem conservation within their territories and protecting their cultural heritage.

It is important to highlight that BIOFIX BIC goes beyond the numbers, reinforcing its strong commitment to fighting climate change through the carbon market as a key tool to address environmental challenges.
