BIOFIX BIC Receives Carbon Neutral Certification

This certification was awarded by Versa to BIOFIX BIC for achieving carbon neutrality in its operations, ensuring a harmonious relationship with the planet.

Bogotá, December 12, 2023. In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Colombia and following an audit process, BIOFIX BIC received the Carbon Neutral Certification from Versa Expertos en Certificación S.A.S. after evaluating the effective implementation of GHG reduction practices.

The carbon footprint calculated for 2022 was 35.9 tons of CO₂ equivalent, corresponding to energy consumption, air transportation, and waste generation, all of which were offset with 36 carbon credits from the Delfines Cupica REDD+ project.

This marks BIOFIX BIC's second Carbon Neutral Certification, adding to other environmental recognitions obtained in 2023, including:

• The Sustainable Development Best Practices award from Pacto Colombia for contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the YAAWI IIPANA REDD+ project.

• The selection of the COCOMAN FRONTERA REDD+ project for its environmental contributions.
